The Rise and Fall of Ra

Judas waded through the desert sands, the sweat dripping from every pore. He felt the snakes wriggling around his ankles. He knew his God's favor would not help in the great temples of Egypt.
"Damn, why did I decide to win the Egyptian Gods favor before the Norse and Chinese?" He growled with discontent. He knew all too well that soon enough he would pass out from dehydration if he did not find a village soon. Slipping his gloves over his clammy hands, Judas started to use a Cursed Circle, one that would allow him to float above the increasingly sinking sands. As the the circle appeared its colur became apparent, blue as the water that the desert lacked.
As Judas placed a white dove feather on the center, the spell shined with beautiful light. His ankles now were a few inches from the sands. The momentary flight would get him to the place he nedded to be, as long as he kept his eyes closed and concentrated.
Judas whispered a word before disspaearing in a flash of speed. "Ra..."

Wolfram blinked as he saw someone rocket across the desert towards the village, which wasn't far from where he himself was standing, well, not just him.
"He isn't from around here" came a female voice from beside Wolfram.
"How can you tell, Foxglove?" he asked.
Foxglove tilted her head at Wolfram.
"How often do you see someone rocket across the desert?" she said, sighing.
"Quite often actually, you would too if you had a jackal after you..." he replied, grinning.
"You know what I mean" Foxglove said, giving Wolfram a look.
He chuckled and put a hand on her shoulder affectionately. They both watched as the man came closer and closer to the village.

Judas finally came upon a village, his brow now dripping with sweat. He rushed inside a nearby tent and saw a man sitting comfortably behind a desk. "Ahh, good day, sir. My goodness you look sick." He said, with concern and he threw Judas a flask of water. The boy drawn the water in what seemed to be two seconds. Wipping the side of his mouth off, he gave the man in a turban a bow and asked. "Do you know where the temple of Ra stands?" The man gasped in suprise. "Ra! Uhhh...No I have no idea what you are talking about now please leave!" He cried in fear and he shoved Judas out of his tent. The boy growled, irriated by his lack of hospitality and information but he knew all too well that the man knew something.

Wolfram and Foxglove walked back to the village. Wolfram raised his eyebrows when he saw Judas shoved out the tent.
"You need shelter, no? I doubt you're used to this heat" said Foxglove to the human when she and Wolfram reached him.

Judas jumped back for a brief moment, suprised by the voice. The insignias glowed a golden color as he seen the two.
"Who are you?" He asked cautiiously.

"I'm Foxglove, this is Wolfram" replied Foxglove, motioning to Wolfram when she said his name "I'm one of the Seven Daughters of the Nile, he's a scribe" she continued.

Judas growled for a moment, unsure of what these two's intentions were. "And you wish to help us?" A voice came from the shadows as a tall red haired woman walked from behind the tent, holding an arabian style sword in her hand. Her long sand-colored cloak sheltered her from the heat and winds.

"Yeah, you look like you need help" answered Wolfram, speaking for the first time to this man, and to this woman who has just came from behind the tent.
"Our intentions are good" Foxglove said, reading the look on the man's face "We come from the nearby capital city, just over the Nile. We had to explore the whole of Egypt a while ago, so we know this place well"

Judas smiled as the insignias on his gloves dimmed away to the regular purple color. He did not know what would cause such a change in Chan and Chi gloves. However, he did need help if he was going to get favor from Ra in order to become stronger and achieve his inhuman form.
With a smile and a bow, he spoke.
"I would enjoy two others to aid our quest, please join us." He said, rising from his bow.

"Come, you need shelter" Wolfram said, nodding his head in return to the bow.
He led them all to a farmhouse near the Nile and let them inside.
"Not much, I know, but its home" the male faun said, gesturing around the place idly with his hand.
Foxglove walked into the small kitchen to prepare some food for Judas and the woman.

Judas smiled to his partner, she gave a small nod as if she understood. The man stood, his eyes closed in concentration. "What should we do? I think it is best to return to our time." Judas suggested.
The girl quickly replied. "No, we must find out more about these gloves you possess... That is our mission and nothing else." She said.

"Your time?" Wolfram inquired "Ah, no wonder you look different" he continued.
Foxglove returned from the kitchen with some bread, pomegranates and some water, she set them on the table then brushed her long black hair out of her face.
"What is it you need our help with?" she asked, not unkindly.

Judas showed the gloves, although they still were kept on his hands. "These are the gloves of a clan called the Chan-Chi we need to figure out more about it. So I figured we should visit the temple of Ra." He replied.

"Temple of Ra? I know where that is" Foxglove said offandedly, suprising everyone, she had a habit of doing that.
"You might want to keep quiet about Ra around this village though, the people here worship and believe in Sobek and Sobek only" Wolfram said quietly.
"The temple is out in the desert, abandoned by these people. They say Ra failed them" Foxglove went on.

Judas growled in frustration, his hands tightening into fists.
"They're time will soon come, scum..." He mumbled. Walking from the tent, his companion followed close behind as they stridded along the desert sands.
"I still do not trust them, Judas." She whispered to him.
He gave her a look to stop her speaking at once.
"I will get my information from them.... If they try anything we will see to it that they will never se the light of day." He growled.

"What do you think they're going to do?" Foxglove whispered to Wolfram.
"No idea" he muttered.
Wolfram got his panflute and started playing a soft melody on it. Foxglove listened to it as they waited for Judas and the woman.

Judas stopped for a moment and turned to look back at the others. His eyes showed kindness however his voice did not.
"Are you two going to show us the temple?" He asked, his voice hot with irritation.
The woman instinctly drew her sword as if something was cooming only to realize she had done it out of safety for Judas.

"Yes" was all Foxglove said in response.
She walked back into the tent and came back out with her scimitar in its sheath attached to her belt and a crossbow in her hand. Foxglove passed the crossbow to Wolfram who stopped playing his panflute and slung the crossbow over his back.
They began leading the way out the village and into the desert, towards the faraway temple of Ra.

Judas marched beside the woman, prepared for a battle that may ensue. His forehead dripping sweat down into his eyes, his hair wet with pesperation. He gave a small chuckle at how easy this might be if he asked the right questions, the red-haired woman looked at him, slightly confused by his sudden chuckle.
"Are you all right?" She asked.
Judas turned to her with a smile.
"Of course..."

Wolfram wiped sweat from his brow as he walked alongside Foxglove, deserts were easy for them thanks to their hooves.
"The journey will take a day or two" Foxglove informed Judas and the woman, glancing back at them.
"Be on your guard, not just to maurauders, but also scorpions and spiders etc. There's not telling what there is out here in the desert's cruel embrace" Wolfram added to Foxglove's sentence.

Judas shrugged, unconcerned about how long this journey may take. He had to figure out more about these gloves and return to his time. As the sun beat down on his head Judas forced himself to walk. His legs were sore from the sand they had to step through.
"Do not worry about us...." Judas said, gasping for breath as if he had lost all water in his body.

"The next Oasis is about a mile away" Foxglove said in response to Judas' gasps.
Wolfram suddenly held up his hand, signaling them all to stop.
"What is it?" Foxglove asked worriedly.
"I hear something" Wolfram replied tensely.
Whatever it was showed itself quickly. A male anthro spotted hyena leaped from behind a sand dune, he looked completely out of place in this time. The hyena wore what looked like armour made of molten rock. He was crazed with thirst.
Wolfram drew his crossbow and Foxglove drew her scimitar, she leaped gracefully and brought the scimitar down on the hyena, it chipped off a bit of armor but the hyena just threw her out the way. Wolfram growled and fired multiple bolts at the hyena, each one doing little damage.

Judas pointed at the enemy, as the girl charged swingly her scimitar with rage and blunt accuracy. As she was fighting head on, Judas prepared. Blue and white electricity flowed through his fingers, as he kept calm the chains of lightning grew then suddenly he opened his palms and thust them outward. The chains flowed and were sent swiftly toward the attacker.
"Eat this!" He roared.

The hyena screeched and struggled as he was chained and fell to the floor, panting.
Wolfram hurried over to Foxglove, who was lying on the ground.
"You okay?" he asked, worried.
"I'm fine" she muttered.
Wolfram helped her up then turned back to the hyena
"Who are you???" The faun demanded.
"....Masika" the hyena hissed.
