Wyndle's Return

A tall, reptilian creature crawled out of her cave, her eyes almost blinded by the sun. Her robes were filled with dirt and slime from the cave she had slept in for two months. Hiding from the creatures that haunted her past home and her nightmares gave her much to think about. Since Nairolus's death her life had been filled with deep sadness but the need for a new love someone near and dear to her.
Wyndle had missed the time she had spent with Shaylle and the others and so wished for their return. Finally standing up, her ankles and knees were bruised making it hard to walk even as slow as she was. She gripped her staff as support until her strength and telepathy returned to her.
"Please anyone, hear my thoughts and cries for help." She said, her telepathy weakened for the moment.

Fireclaw jerked awake when she heard a telepathic call of a familiar voice. She had just been lazing around, dozing in the sun on a mountain ledge.
She got up and took off, following the direction of the call, coming across a reptilian figure coming out of a cave. Fireclaw landed next to her.
"Hey Wyndle" Fireclaw greeted with a small smile "You called?"

Wyndle stared up at the dragoness and cracked a smile before collapsing onto the ground. Her body weak from hunger and thirst, her breathing began to slow but she had no energy left in her body.
Looking up at Fireclaw, she weezed. "I'm glad to see a friendly face."

Shaylle followed his mate and landed beside her, putting a wing around her.

At the call, Xephyr's eyes went wide as he jolted to a state of awakedness. He took off without a word or an apparant thought and made his way to the cave. "It's been a while..." he said, not only to wyndle, but to Fireclaw and Shaylle aswell. "Shaylle, Fireclaw, how have you two been holding up?" he asked before asking wyndle the same thing.

"We're good, thanks, yourself?" Fireclaw replied to Xephyr.
The dragoness picked the weak Wyndle up and put the reptilian creature on her back.
"Let's get you some food" Fireclaw said.

Wyndle felt herself be picked up. Feeling the scales against her Wyndle gripped Fireclaw's back without hesitation.
"Thank you. I am sorry to be a burden to you, Shaylle and Xephyr." She said, her voice still weak.

"A friend is not a burden..." Xephyr said. "It is someone who takes them away. we would not have come for a burden, but a friend..."

"Shaylle, Xephyr, could you boys do the hunting? I'll take Wyndle to the springs so she can drink"
Fireclaw nuzzled Shaylle then took off and flew over to the springs in the valley. She lifted Wyndle off her back and onto the grass near the springs.

Xephyr, without a word, complied. He took to the sky and scanned the ground for likely prey. A group of deer was grazing in a nearby clearing, but there were young with them, and Xephyr did not want to rob them of their parents. Instead, he feinted after a lone moose on a cliff, picking it up with his razor like beak. He broke its neck, instantly killing it without pain. He placed it in the cave, and waited for fireclaw to come back so she could cook it with her fire breath.

Fireclaw took off into the air and began flying to her cave, she wondered what had happened since she had first met Wyndle.
"Seems like a lot..." she decided.

Wyndle tried desperately to hold on, her strength had been drained from a recent batttle with her brother, Vael and a few bandits that had come after he had left. Her body was covered in wounds that had sealed up the natural way. Wyndle did not fear that they were infected but still felt the sting of the cuts every once in awhile.
"It was Vael... He was the one who reduced me to this." Wyndle said, her voice regaining.

"Again?" Fireclaw asked, remembering the first time she had met Vael.
They reached her cave where Xephyr and the prey he killed was. Fireclaw cooked the meat with her fire breath then put Wyndle gently on the floor.

Wyndle lay in a clod heap on the stone floor, she had been sick for weeks. Sneezing a few times, Wyndle cuddled up to Fireclaw and Shaylle to keep warm. It had been quite awhile since she had someone to be near to.
"Thank you all." She said, coughing a bit.
