Searching...and Finding

Pearlfoot whimpered "Where is she...?" he thought.
Pearlfoot was searching for Shiia; Pearlfoot, like Shiia, was from one of the eggs that Shaylle and Fireclaw rescued. He was over-average size (6ft on all fours, 12 on two, and he was 18ft long) and was pure white, his scales gave off a pearl-ish gleam when hit by the sun's rays.
Pearlfoot looked around, he was in a dark, mysterious, dense forest. His stomach rumbled, but he ignored it, even though he was terribly skinny due to having not eaten for two weeks; he was too worried about Shiia, she was his best friend.
"I must find her! Even if it kills me!" Pearlfoot thought.
He roared at the top of his lungs, determination fueling him along.

Shiia lie on the seal skin bed in Arkriss's ice cave. Her stomach gurgled and growled fiercely. She knew she was safe with Arkriss, however, she needed Fireclaw and Shaylle too. She missed them so much. She also missed Pearlfoot and the others she grew to know and love. She just wanted to go home, and to have things the way they used to be, before any of them got split up, and before she had to arduously drag around her large burden of eggs, that pulled on her stretched, bloated, little belly.

Pearlfoot could not stand hunger any longer, he savagly killed a moose and ate it hungrily. When he was finished, the was nothing but a pile of bones on the floor, licked clean. Gaining strength from his meal, he sprinted out the forest and onto the plains, then took off into the sky.

"I'll find you Shiia!!!" He yelled, determined. "And I'll get those bastards that kidnapped you!"

Shiia eventually fell asleep in the field Arkriss sent her to, and forgot to give her sandals back before she did. She rolled over and turned, for most of the night, it was uncomfortable for her to lay on her stomach; she liked to sprawl out on her back, just like her mother, Fireclaw always does, however, her eggs pushed down on her little lungs, making it hard for her to breathe. She lied on her side, most of the night.

Pearlfoot decided to land for the night, he roared in frustration, Shiia had to be somewhere, he had flown over most of the world with no luck. Pealrfoot lay down, but then shot up again as he smelled something familiar, he ran forwards, following the smell, he came to a field. Looking around he saw a small mound in the middle of it, he moved towards it cautiously, almost fainting when he realized it was Shiia. Pearlfoot sniffed her swollen, pregnant belly "How the hell did that happen???" he wondered.
Pearlfoot nudged Shiia gently with his muzzle to wake her, he hated to wake her when she was sleeping peacefully, but he had to find shelter for them both.

Shiia muttered in her sleep, and soon after, woke up. She looked up at the white figure and squeaked in shock, before realizing who it was.

Pearlfoot grinned at her "Fancy finding you here, after searching the world" he said, still grinning.
He reared up on two legs and bent down to pick Shiia up, he held her so that her belly was facing up. Pearlfoot looked at Shiia's belly again but decided not to comment, they needed to find shelter. He carried her back into the forest, he found them shelter in the base of a huge tree. Pearlfoot lay Shiia down on her back, on a comfy pile of leaves, then he sat down next to her.

"Oh, I am so glad to see you..." Shiia said, as her eyes filled with tears. She looked at him, staring at her belly, and she buried her head in his wing and cried for a long time.

Pearlfoot held her close as she cried, his own tears falling.
"I've missed you so much..." he said.

"Me too..." she continued to cry. Later, she finally asked, "Where is Mother and Father? Do you know?"

"They were captured, me and the others only just escaped, but don't worry, they will escape, I just know they will" Pearlfoot whispered. "We will be okay if we stick together" he finished.

It was bad enough to hear it from Arkriss, a good friend of her mother's, but now she was hearing it from her own friend, like a brother in a way, and she could not deny it any longer. She started crying again, wanting them to be alright.

Pearlfoot felt awful having to tell her that their parents had been captured. He put a wing around her in a friendly, comforting way, he would protect her, no matter what. Attempting to steer the conversation away from its current uncomfortable area, he said:
"hey, you hungry? I can get us some food"

Shiia was very hungry. She had not eaten in days, not because she could not find anything to eat, but because there was no room in her stomach for any food. Her belly felt like it was going to burst as it was. She nodded her head weakly though, knowing she would eventually die, had she not something in her stomach soon.

Pearlfoot nodded and gave Shiia a quick lick on the cheek before he went and looked for food, he found a large warren of rabbits nearby, he cooked the whole lot of them with a blast of fire. Satisfied with his work, Pearlfoot carried the cooked rabbits back to Shiia and placed them in a pile in front of her.

Shiia pulled herself over to the pile and hesitating, picked up one of the rabbits in her mouth and swallowed it whole. Her hunger pains taking over, she scarfed down the entire pile before Pearlfoot had a chance to eat one. She soon felt extremely sick.

Pearlfoot didn't mind that Shiia had eaten all the rabbits, they were specially for her anyway. Realizing that Shiia felt sick, Pearlfoot sniffed around for some herbs that cured sickness, he found some, but they weren't very good, they would help though, and they didn't taste disgusting. Pearlfoot handed Shiia the herbs.

Shiia packed them in, unsure of how much more her stomach could handle. She lie down again, her little paws spread out on her belly.

Pearlfoot lay down on his belly next to her, he put a warm, protective wing over her and whispered: "Everything will be alright..." before he fell into a light sleep, ready to wake up if danger came.

Shiia took his word and fell into another deep sleep. She thought he had sounded like them when he reassured her.

Morning came with the first rays of sunlight that penetrated the trees and warmed them up. Pealrfoot woke up and nudged Shiia gently and playfully with his muzzle "Hey morning sunshine, I defeated the evil fire-breathing human that guarded your tower" he said, grinning, trying to keep the air light.

Shiia groaned jokingly and buried her head under her wing, not wanting to get up. It was her sorry attempt to keep the air light.

Pearlfoot smiled at her "Do you want breakf-" the rest of his sentence was cut off because an explosion rang through the trees, then the sky turned red and the clouds turned a blackish purple. The trees died and poisonous dripping vines grew where flowers once were, the grass withered and worst of all, the sun disappeared.

Shiia pawed around on the spot, as nervous as ever. She shook violently at the horrific sight. Her arms and legs stretched right out, to keep her belly from touching the sickly ground. She slowly backed away when something pricked her in the foot.

A monstrous demon climbed out the ground where Shiia's foot had been, Pearlfoot stood in front of Shiia protectivley. The demon advanced on them slowly, it was tall and walked hunched over, it was a dark blood red with eyes like fire, it had goat like horns and a long spiky tail, its claws were long and sharp. It's claws, horns and spikes were black. The demon growled menacingly. Pearlfoot leapt forwards and tackled the demon, the demon threw him off easily.
"Youuuu....isss not the one I want....I want...the fffeemale...." it said, it's long fangs bared.
"You will not get her!" snarled Pearlfoot, then something slowly dawned on him, he roared. "You! Demon! Are you what made her pregnant?!"
The demon laughed, that was all Pearlfoot needed, he was so angry he felt like he would explode so he channelled that anger at the demon. The demon sensed it and turned around, fear in it's eyes, Pearlfoot lowered his head so that his horns where pointing forwards, then he charged. His horns impaled the demon right through the belly. The demon gave a loud death cry and with its final ounce of strength, slashed Pearlfoot along the back of his neck and his back and kicked him into a tree, then it died. Pearlfoot groaned and tried to get up, but his vision went out of focus and he fell unconcious.
